  • Job Title: Business Development Executive

    Location: Home-based with occasional attendance at York or London offices

    Salary: £32,209.00

    What you’ll be doing

    As Business Development Executive, you’ll work with our brilliant marketing team to support campaigns and initiatives aimed at maximising sales opportunities, and take ownership of lead qualification, distribution and tracking to ensure effective follow-up and engagement by our Membership Team and Partnership Managers  Developing relationships with potential clients and offering bespoke solutions to meet their needs, you’ll conduct sales presentations to showcase our value proposition and communicate the benefit of the services we offer.

    Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the smooth handover of leads and facilitate the transition to opportunity proposals, you’ll support both the UK and International Memberships Teamby engaging with key stakeholders to identify new opportunities. Fostering a positive sales culture, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, you’ll also report on prospects and leads, and provide regular updates on pipeline status and conversion rates.

    You’ll have a number of additional responsibilities, including staying up to speed with industry trends, market developments and the activities of our competitors, and enhancing your product knowledge and sales skills through training and self-development. Escalating any risks, working cross-functionally and managing your work with positive effectiveness, we’ll also expect you to be committed to the principle of equity, diversity and inclusion, GDPR, health and safety and the requirements of the Charity Commission.

    Who we’re looking for

    To be a success in this role you’ll have a business related degree, a specific business development qualification, or equivalent practical experience. You should also have project management and data analytics qualifications or experience and a passion for higher education and its pivotal role in society. Your collaborative and supportive personal style will allow you to motivate and inspire your colleagues to meet high standards and deliver client-focused outcomes, and your superb service skills will enhance our customers’ experience with us.

    Capable of offering constructive challenge, working both independently and collaboratively, and undertaking a high level of personal responsibility and initiative, you’ll be capable of adapting your communication skills to suit a range of audiences. Ready to manage demanding workloads while working to conflicting deadlines and maintaining close attention to detail, you’ll have a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving sales. It’s also important that you’re familiar with CRM software and other sales tools that manage and track leads.

  • Job Title: Senior Consultant – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (Freedom of Speech focused)

    Location:  Remote

    Salary: £30,858 per annum

    Part time 17.5 hours

    Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

    What you’ll be doing

    As a Senior Consultant, working closely with clients in the UK and internationally, you can expect to be involved in significant work focused on new products and services related to Freedom of Speech/Academic freedom, as Programme Director for more complex consultancy projects.  You’ll be involved from tenders and planning through to delivery, working up briefs and developing solutions. You will also use your expertise to develop relevant products and services, and commission work from external experts and suppliers. At the same time, you can expect to mentor and support less experienced colleagues in delivering consultancy services.

    Who we’re looking for

    With a consultancy background, you can offer high-quality insights into current freedom of speech/academic freedom issues in higher education. You have experience designing and delivering interventions to support Higher Education Instituations to navigate the landscape.

    What do you need

    • Experience of developing products, services, processes or systems to meet customer or member needs
    • Experience of managing the implementation of change projects, including culture change
    • The ability to design impactful events and training and to engage others in effective dialogue around Freedom of Speech/Academic Freedom
    • Knowledge of the higher education sector
    • Well-developed project or programme management skills
    • The ability to build strong and trusting working relationships and to develop business on the back of them
    • Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills
    • Willingness to travel
