Job Title: Consultant, Education
Location: Home-based (ROI) with occasional Republic of Ireland/UK travel. (The role will be based in Republic of Ireland)

What you’ll be doing
Working closely with a Senior Consultant, you will shape content, and design and deliver solutions for the higher education sectors. While some work will focus on member benefits, some will be commercial services for paying customers. You will also play a key role in developing thought leadership: researching and communicating topics to offer insight, intelligence and occasionally provocation. While much of your consultancy work will be sourced via colleagues, you can also create your own opportunities through fostering relationships and building networks.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll bring core expertise in learning and teaching, alongside specialist knowledge in an area such as the policy landscape, access and retention, student engagement and success, EDI or student well-being. Your challenge is to understand the priorities of institutions and translate them into compelling products and services for the wider sector.

What you’ll be doing
As Research and Insight Executive, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of our student surveys portfolio, which is currently made up of the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey, the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey and the UK Engagement Survey. You’ll be the main day-to-day contact for the 100 plus UK and international higher education institutions who participate in running these important surveys, provide any help and support they ask for, conduct analysis, write reports and present at conferences and to individual institutions.
Working with other members of the team to process the results of the surveys using SPSS and Excel VBA-based reporting, you’ll undertake dataset preparation, data processing and report production. And we’ll also expect you to contribute to the agenda for thought leadership and insight generation using the survey data, integrating this with additional information to produce reports, press releases, webinars and presentations that are rooted in the need to drive the enhancement of learning and teaching.
But your work won’t stop here – you’ll also deliver conclusions which build on the core data produced by the team, and demonstrate the value of participation in the surveys and their potential to drive positive change. We’ll also expect you to contribute to income generation across the wider Consulting, Governance and Insights team by helping to generate demand for additional analysis, develop client proposals and identify opportunities to develop the Surveys and Insights portfolio.
Who we’re looking for
With a degree or its equivalent that includes an analytical or numerical element, you’ll have well developed knowledge of quantitative survey and market research systems, and a good understanding of quantitative data processing software and processes, as well as analysis techniques using SPSS. We’ll expect you to have worked on large scale surveys in a quantitative research environment and have experience of data processing – with this in mind you’ll possess advanced knowledge of SPSS and Excel for data cleaning, processing and analysis.
Capable of presenting data and survey results to a range of external audiences, you’ll have the ability to work with a network of stakeholders and use your organisational skills to maximise their participation. A skilled report writer, you’ll also be ready to work as an inspirational member of a wider team while co-ordinating and organising activities and issues.

What you’ll be doing
As a Marketing Executive with Advance HE you’ll have a wide range of responsibilities – these start with working with designers and agencies to create high quality marketing collateral, including reports, toolkits, videos, podcasts and other content. Supporting our social media strategy and activities, and posting and managing the content we produce, you’ll also carry out paid marketing campaigns and make sure the testing, tracking and reporting of all our social media is accurate.
But your work won’t stop here – you’ll also project manage, build and test our emails and e-newsletters, working across a rich customer base and ensuring the success of our campaigns in support of engagement and lead generation. We’ll also expect you to confirm the accuracy of our targeted email and database marketing, and see that database maintenance and activities are correctly logged.
Search engine marketing will be another key responsibility, and will involve the optimisation of website content, implementing PPC accounts to guarantee that paid search ads have the relevant copy and links to the correct landing pages, and working on keyword campaign identification. You’ll also provide administrative support to the team, including the raising of purchase orders and processing invoices, and deal with a range of telephone, website and email enquiries.
Who we’re looking for
With a degree (or working towards one) and marketing experience, you’ll have a positive attitude that allows you to work effectively across a number of different functions and teams. A highly effective communicator with the confidence to adapt your style to suit the audience you’re addressing, you’ll be ready to work independently, undertake a high level of personal responsibility, and manage demanding workloads and deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail. We’ll also expect you to be ready to work with a high degree of discretion, and respect confidential and sensitive information.
You’ll have strong team working skills, experience of operating with databases or CRM systems, and be capable of using the full range of online and offline marketing channels. With good knowledge of working with data for audience segmentation, and capable of using content management systems and updating websites, you should possess a practical understanding of SEM and PPC. You’ll also have experience of working with external agencies, understand the power of social media marketing, and have a good eye for design. And it goes without saying that you’ll be a superb communicator and writer with high level proof-reading skills and the ability to use the MS Office suite of software.
